Had an “unexpected” save this week: a terrier wouldn’t let me near the water heater, so I pulled a 50¢ dog treat from my bag and the owner laughed, “Guess you’re approved now.” My tip, @OP: keep two small treats in your pouch; it’s made attic and crawlspace checks faster for me, though if you can’t carry them, just ask the owner to leash or hold the pup.
